GCL have been busying themselves over the past few years in staff training and have now reached a century to qualify for the Ashes Team!!!

We commenced our NVQ programme in November 2006 and are proud to announce that we have reached the 100 mark of NVQ’s achieved. The scheme was undertaken in partnership with our training provider Construction Learning World who is an executive member of EdExcel, one of the main awarding bodies.

The course is based on on-site profiling and continuous assessment/evaluation of selected candidates. The NVQ’s gained range from Carpenter, Steel-fixer, Banksman, Various Plant Operations, Site Supervisor and now to Site Manager. New categories have been recently introduced to provide a broader spectrum of qualifications available.

As part of our continued investment in training, we have also embarked on an NVQ Apprenticeship programme in conjunction with SpeCC and the National Construction College. Alan Sugar beware!

Our next target is the 150 mark and with 31 candidates presently being profiled, we are well on our way.
